Infant Learning Toys? But I thought We Already Talked About This?!

Not exactly. I believe that infant learning toys encompass the whole sensory motor development of the newborn. The other pages focused more on each particular aspect of the development... vision, hearing/language, touch, gross motor, and fine motor.

Now let's focus on particular toys that optimize the enrichment of the infant's sensory motor development. As we focus on them, we'll also consider product and safety features and shopping tips to help you make wise selections.

Mobiles ...excellent choices to combine sight and sound...and maybe even gross motor skills if she tries to reach for it. But of course you know not to let her actually get her hands on any part of it.

Books ...another excellent choice for integrating his senses and motor development. We don't normally think of books as toys...or at least I don't...but they contribute well to his total development, so we'll include them here.

Swings and Bouncers keep your child entertained and part of the family activities. Sometimes they even soothe the fretful child.

Activity Centers ...next in the progression after you child outgrows the swings and bouncers.
