This site approaches that selection decision from a different angle than most others do. We look at a particular aspect of the child's development rather than age.
However...within that feature, we address what is age appropriate.
Because the first five years of a child's life are the most critical, we limit our scope to the preschool years.
Providing a sensory-rich environment is important in a child’s development…Why? It is through the senses that they gain most of their information. This aids their cognitive, or mental, growth as well.
While our discussion centers on each of these senses and motor skills, your child does not use these in isolation to learn about his environment. So integrate as many of these as possible when making your selection.
Safety concerns you. We’ll give you important information and web sites to locate recalls and warnings.
