So What Gifts Enrich The Visual Development Of the Fabulous Four?

Many gifts and activities cultivate the visual development of your child. His vision directs many activities…cutting on lines, cutting out simple pictures.

She identifies colors now and describes many of the details in pictures.

He draws. You can even recognize many of the objects your budding artist creates.

So let’s have a look at toys and activities appropriate for a four-year-old.

You know what’s first on the list, don’t you? Yep, you guessed it…

Books…she’s long since laid the board books aside. Why, she’s going to be in Kindergartn next year…ready for big girl books. Check out books by Dr. Seuss and Eric Carle.

Artsy Stuff…crayons, markers, pencils, paints, scissors. Yes, it’s messy, but the happy memories he creates are priceless. He may even like to help you make some play dough.

Puzzles…Judy puzzles, 6 to 10-piece jigsaw puzzles, even simple puzzles you can make. She has to carefully note details and to put the pieces together correctly.

Subscription to a child’s magazine…National Wildlife Federation has magazines geared toward various age levels. Our Big Backyard would probably appeal to your four-year-old. Highlights recently made one available for preschoolers called High Five. The hidden pictures in this publication hone his ability to discriminate details. This skill serves him well in kindergarten and beyond.

Sometimes these years seemed to drag by. But now that you’re supposed to launch him to Kindergarten, you’re not sure you’re ready…right? Now you will decide whether to send him to a public, private, Christian school, or home school. Whatever you decide, you’ll know that you’ve prepared him well.

So…ready or not, he’s a Fantastic Five…
