Language Gifts And Activities To Enrich The 7-12 Month Old

She recognizes familiar sounds and what they mean. She’ll turn to look at the source of the sound…or try to find it if she can’t see it.

The fun really begins now…he still babbles a lot, but some of that babbling resembles speech. He may even say her first word.

She laughs, and you just can’t help laughing either.

He discovers that his mouth can make different sounds besides cooing and babbling. So he experiments with smacking…sputtering…squealing…even yelling and finds that he gets attention. I remember an incident between our granddaughter and her grandfather that was just hilarious.

Toy Piano

Book with Puppet

Musical Mobile Phone

However, once he started talking, he talked in sentences, and we haven’t been able to hush him up since! He’s the most verbal of our three boys. Boys do tend to be less verbal.

This has been a marvelous year! It’s been fun to play with her, and now she responds to you with greater understanding.

What will it be like when he's a toddler? Ready to find out? Let's go!
