Gross Motor Gifts To Enhance The Development Of The…

7-12 Month-Old

Will she walk by the time she’s a year old?

Each child is unique. Our daughter-in-law walked at 7 months; our son at about a year.

But you can expect to see those big muscles really developing next 6 months.

He progresses from sitting without any support for less than a minute……to standing, without support, for about the same length of time. Wow!

She’ll learn to go from sitting to crawling and crawling to sitting.

Next he gets up on hands and knees and rock…Then he takes off crawling. ‘Cause soooo many interesting things just beckon to be touched!

Teach her to roll a Ball to strengthen arms and even balance. You can use a small beach ball, but an 8-in ball is probably best...that's an inexpensive gift.

A ride-on or push toy gives him support as those leg muscles get him ready for walking. His gross motor skills really get a work-out.

Are you ready for that? Of course, he’s getting too heavy to carry now.

She takes her first few faltering steps, and before you know it, she’s a toddler.
